This summer is set to become full of variety and full of art. Witness installations by Ottmar Hörl in Hamburg, Kißlegg, Munich, Rottweil, Schwerin, Stuttgart, Seefeld, Wetter as well as Turku, Finland.
Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum, Itäinen Rantakatu 4–6, 20700 Turku, Finland
Ottmar Hörl is the first German artist to be invited to take part in the contemporary art biennial at the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova Museum in Turku, Finland, this year. Appropriating the biennial theme of "THE UNEXPECTED GUEST", he is contributing his sculptural project entitled "Existence": a self-portrait featuring monochrome, black serial figures attached to the wall and giving visitors food for thought. Inspiring them perhaps to reflect upon what it means to be an artist, on the absurdity or fragility of life – or whatever comes to mind. That's up to them. However, the fact that the sculptures look like the artist, will remain hidden.
