Seven nationally active artists have done some thinking about the seven deadly sins, and depicted the result of their examination of one particular sin on a trailer cart. The task was assigned to the artists by drawing lots, with the lot for "sloth" going to Ottmar Hörl. Following his creed of showing "sculpture as an organisational principle", the artist uses binder clips to attach books and booklets referring to sloth to the inside of a wooden box set up on the trailer. Observers will not find any given individual interpretation or stylistic determination. On the contrary, Hörl's minimalist room is a small library that opens up an enormous, varied space for their own thoughts. "In Praise of Sloth", a piece of music by Joseph Haydn, can be played from a CD on a boom box, referring to yet another field and bringing in the sense of hearing. A simple folding chair is an invitation to be slothful.
The exhibition will be shown in six further locations: Telgte (5 July to 5 Aug 2019), Münster (7 to 9 Sep 2019), Vreden (12 Sep to 3 Nov 2019), Liesborn (19 April to 14 July 2020), Saerbeck (21 July to 9 Aug 2020), Herne (31 Oct to 20 Dec 2020).
