The outdoor installation "Scultura 24" takes place for the 5th time. The open-air gallery can be seen on the Florentinerberg around the Old Steam Bath. The exhibition, under the patronage of Mayor Dietmar Späth, was organised by Martin Pöll and Karl Manfred Rennertz from the GFjK ("Gesellschaft der Freunde junger Kunst e.V. ["Society of Friends of Young Art"].
The first sculpture to be installed was a life-sized portrait of the composer Richard Wagner in royal blue by Professor Ottmar Hörl. The XXL Wagner sculpture was transported from Korea directly to the Old Steam Bath, where it is connected to the pavement with deep earth anchors. It will set the tone in front of the Friedrichsbad until the end of the exhibition.
The poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is another life-sized sculpture by the conceptual artist Professor Ottmar Hörl that appears at "Scultura 24". With its unique colour, a vibrant bordeaux purple, and its impressive size it attracts attention just like the Richard Wagner sculpture.
This year's selection of artistic positions reflects current artistic creation and unites young artists as well as internationally renowned masters.
The open-air exhibition will be open until 6 October 2024.
