On the occasion of the 265th anniversary of Friedrich Schiller's birth on 10. November 2024, 100 Schiller sculptures by conceptual artist Ottmar Hörl will be presented in front of the town hall in Marbach am Neckar. The temporary installation can only be seen on Sunday of Schiller's anniversary.
Friedrich Schiller was born on 10. November 1759 at Niklastorstrasse 31 in Marbach am Neckar. He is considered one of the most important German-language dramatists and poets.
Friedrich Schiller's literary traditions has found its place in the Schiller National Museum on the Schillerhöhe in Marbach. Nowadays, the German Literary Archive and Literary Museum of Modernity are located on the poet's hill.
The city of Marbach am Neckar celebrates Schiller week every year around Schiller's birthday.
After the installation, the sculptures can be purchased at antiquarian bookshop Friedrich and bookstore Taube.
