art KARLSRUHE
Ottmar Hörl One-Artist Show
Hall 1 Stand U02 / Galerie ABTART
22 to 25 February 2018, Messe Karlsruhe, Messeallee 1, 76287 Rheinstetten

The 2018 edition of art Karlsruhe will feature a presentation of new work by Ottmar Hörl, playing out between the poles of art, nature and society: abstract, and yet reminiscent of nature, the "Naturschauspiel" [Natural Wonders] series of paintings is fascinating for its breathtaking dynamism and distinctive visual language. Hörl's mind moves in a larger continuum, ranging from Dürer's "Large Piece of Turf" to an emblem of global networks in the 21st century. An installation featuring a new serial animal sculpture, a woodpecker, specifically created for the art fair, will be introduced to the public for the first time. Additional multiples from current sculptural projects will also be waiting to be discovered. Be sure to drop by at Stand U02 in Hall 1.

Sculpture Johannes Gutenberg
At the beginning of the new year, we have the pleasure to present the brand-new Johannes Gutenberg sculpture. "The modern world as we know it would be inconceivable without Gutenberg's achievements," says Ottmar Hörl. Following an invitation by the City of Eltville am Rhein, he is set to dedicate a sculptural installation, on show between 18 August and 23 September, to the inventor of mechanical movable type printing to mark the Gutenberg Year. This is to commemorate Gutenberg's invention which was an indispensable prerequisite for the dissemination of knowledge, ideas and education on a global scale. The prototype of the new sculpture will be introduced to the general public for the first time as part of the City of Eltville's New Year's reception on 21 January 2018.
