Sculptural Installation “Richard Wagner – The Bow” in Bayreuth, 2024

Richard Wagner brought art and culture to Bayreuth with his festival. Since 1876, the Richard Wagner Festival has offered a unique presentation of Richard Wagner's works.

Not only did he break with tradition through his compositions, he also contradicted the norms of the time with the construction of his festival theatre. He installed the orchestra invisibly in a trench, creating a unique acoustic.

Following art projects in 2004, 2013, 2016 and 2023, conceptual artist Prof. Ottmar Hörl has developed another sculpture project for Bayreuth: "Richard Wagner - The Bow". This year, Wagner fans will be welcomed to the Festival Hill lawn with a respectful bow. The 46 cm high sculpture will once again delight visitors to the Green Hill in Bayreuth this year.

Under the direction of Katharina Wagner, the festival will take place from 25. July 2024 to 27. August 2024.
